Doula

My work with the families I serve is heavily influenced by all I have learned about the traditional role of the wise woman of the village.

I typically support the families I work with from around 20 weeks into their pregnancy and I usually stay with them up until 6 weeks after their baby has been born. I often keep in touch with many of the families I have served even after our work together has finished. It is really a blessing to see a baby and mother I have witnessed the birth of grow into this world.

Each family’s needs are different and I am able to walk alongside you for all or part of your journey, in-person or virtually - whatever is right for you. With this is mind we can work together to create an offering of support that is just right for you.

Have a read of the support I am able to offer and then book in for a free exploration session.

During our sessions together ahead of the birth of your baby, we will undergo the deepest of birth and motherhood preparation. We will explore your past experiences of birth (including the stories that have been passed to you by those around you) and release any fears you are carrying from these experiences, we will explore the physiological process of birth, we will explore your birth options and I will support you as you decide the best way for you to have your baby.

We will do all this by utilising a variety of tools including Biomechanics for Birth, Hypnobirthing, Journaling, Meditation, Reiki and, if you wish, spiritual practices such as Shamnic Journeying and working with various Archetypes. Please do not worry if you have never used any of these practices before. I will be guided by what is right for you, and I will support you and hold you fully as we utilise these tools.

From 38 to 42 weeks into your pregnancy, I will be on call for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Ready to come to you just as soon as you are ready for me to offer you my support.

I will be there, by your side, as you explore the labyrinth of birth. I will hold and keep the space around you sacred, working with both you and your partner to have the most positive and empowering birthing experience possible. During the birth itself I may utilise a variety of support techniques such as Aromatherapy, Homeopathy, Massage, Positioning, Rebozo, Reiki.

I am able to continue to support the families I work with not only through pregnancy and birth, but also postnatally too - usually for the first 40 days after your baby has been born.

During pregnancy our energy field expands and opens for us to be able to bring a new soul into this world. After the birth it is important to not only integrate, but also to reseal our energy fields again. Our work together during the postnatal period will support this process. The postnatal period is also a time of settling in for both you and your baby. You will be finding your feet as a new mother and you may well have a lot of emotions that come to the surface.

I will offer you practical and emotional support, and I also offer the possibility of integrating tools such as Reiki, yoni steaming and castor oil packs to support your integration and healing following birth. During our last session together I offer a closing ceremony. My role during the postnatal period is to support your body and your spirit as you grow into motherhood.

I am proud to specialise in holding space that is supportive and inclusive. I have extensive experience of supporting families with the following experiences:

  • Neurodivergence: I bring a wealth of experience and passion to supporting neurodivergent families through the emotional and logistical shifts of the childbearing year. This understanding is deeply enriched by my own lived experience as an AuDHD woman and mother to an AuDHD teenager, allowing me to provide deeply attuned, practical, and structured support tailored to your unique needs.

  • Home Birth Outside of Guidance: I have extensive experience supporting families who wish to birth at home when they have been told it isn't possible or isn't recommended by standard pathways. I will hold space for you to make the decisions that are right for you and your baby, and help you secure the exact care and support you need.

  • Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC): I have supported many families planning a VBAC—whether at home or in a hospital setting—following one or more previous caesarean births.

  • Physiological Breech Birth: I support families looking to achieve a natural birth following a breech diagnosis. I am also experienced in supporting families using comfort measures to encourage babies to move to a head-down position, as well as holding space for those who ultimately choose a planned caesarean.

  • Trauma, Loss & Abuse Survivors: I offer deeply compassionate, trauma-informed support for families navigating previous birth trauma, fertility challenges, and pregnancy loss, as well as survivors of abuse and sexual trauma.

  • Inclusive Family Support: I am experienced in supporting the unique needs of LGBTQIA+ parents, disabled families, and providing culturally appropriate care that deeply respects and incorporates your specific religious or spiritual customs and rituals.

Do reach out to me if you would like to discuss your specific needs, and we can talk about how I may be able to support you to feel safe, heard, nurtured and supported throughout your journey.
